Zomerparkfeest '17

What is Zomerparkfeest? Since 1977 there's been a free cultural festival in the heart of Venlo. What started out as a bloc party in the '70's has grown to a 4-day 85.000 visitor juggernaught. While the music is the focal point of the festival, it also includes perfomances in the areas of dance, theatre, film, literature, visual arts and science. Venlo natives have got it down in their schedules year-on-year.

Our highlights this year?

Allah Las: Sunday -19:35h - Zelt

An American rockband perfect for a Sunday sundown. Their sound? A lazy mix of psychedelic sixtiesrock, garage and surf. There's sadly no room in the Zelt to bring your longboard.

Amy Becker: Saturday - 23:15h - Grenswerk Kerk

A BBC Radio 1Xtra regular, Rinse FM, Boiler Room, NTS, she's all had those under her belt. We remember a certain night the Grenswerk Kerk literally got broken down. We're expecting a rematch.

Toots & the Maytals: Sunday - 22:15h - Main

Every year there's some kind of legendary act and this year is no different: true ska & reggae greats Toots & the Maytals are closing out the main stage on Sunday. Guess where we will be.

SMIB: Friday - 00:10h - Zelt

Nine Bijlmer boys. Bims. SMIB. They've taken the Netherlands by storm with their punk hiphop, straight from the Bims. We'll let SMIB do the talking from here.

Venlo-Zuid Soundsystem: Friday - 00:40h - Zelt

Shout-out to our own musical jack-of-all-trades: Sjengfrancisco. His new project Venlo-Zuid Soundsystem, together with Marshall is steadily doing the right stuff. Down The Rabbit Hole, Extrema Outdoor, Landagucha, remixes of Yung Internet and ANBU. They'll be closing out the Zelt on Friday and it's going to be bangin'.
