Footwear Focus With Erik: Veja

In an age where the noise in the sneaker world is created by hyped brands and releases, it is a welcome breath of fresh air for someone to do it differently. In our opinion, Veja does it differently, A LOT.

You won't see any advertising, marketing, or influencers showcasing the 'V'. Veja simply doesn't do that. If an Oscar winner, or recently ex-British royal family member is wearing a Veja V-10 or V-12 in a paparazzi photo, it is because it's their own choice.

So what is Veja? The French brand was born from an ethical standpoint. 'One foot in design, one foot in social responsibility.' Working with organic cotton farmers in Brazil for their uppers and using natural rubber from the Amazon for the soles, they ensure their suppliers are paid fairly and material is sourced in a planet-friendly way.

Their silhouettes are clean, simple, easy-to-wear. Their way of working, combined with the ever growing sense of responsibility for taking care of the world means they've grown exponentially since 2013.

The 'V' has become immediately recognizable and the message Veja is sending is resonating with the consumer. Even Highsnobiety recognizes the brand as one of the to-watch-for sustainable brands of 2020.
For Spring/Summer 2020, the V-10, V-12 and Campo are the ones we've opted for. Available in a variety of different colourways, one thing is clear: you're about to see a lot more V-logo's on the streets
