Footwear Focus With Erik: Nike Air Force 1

And now for my next number I’d like to return to the classic. The NIKE Air Force 1 in all-white. Absolutely sneaker royalty. If I had to wear one single pair of sneakers for the rest of my life it would be the all-white Ones. Or the Harlems, or the Uptowns, G-Nikes, Uppies, all-whites. All nicknames for arguably one of the most recognizable and therefore greatest sneakers of all-time. The Air Force 1 is estimated to have generated over $, (yes, that’s billion) in sales since its introduction in 1982. It’s the highest-selling athletic sneaker of all-time. For it’s 25th Anniversary the AF1 received its own anthem, a hip-hop classic featuring hip-hop greats:

There have been some hugely iconic colourways and collaborations over the years, which I’m not going to delve into because you’d get bored after the first 25 I would write about (but seriously, remember the Fukijama’s Entourage’s Turtle absolutely had to have? Those would be on my list). But in the end, at the end of the day, the one we all gravitate to is the white-on-white. The 315122-111. Sometimes a shoe doesn’t need an introduction, an editorial, or a focus like this. But sometimes we do have to stand back and appreciate what it’s achieved.
